Physics Tip of the Day!

Truncation artifacts could appear as bright areas on the edge of an obese patient’s CT exam when tissues lie outside the scanning FOV. Extrapolation procedures or truncation artifact correction can be applied to reduce or eliminate the bright areas thus showing periphery of the patient more clearly.
